five minutes

Reverb10 December 15 – 5 Minutes Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010. (Author: Patti Digh)

I would tell my amnesic self the following:

  • you took a month off last year and learned the value of self care
  • new studio brand and website – you worked hard and it paid off
  • remember your work with Hiro – turning in and tuning in… the “right” answer for the moment is in you
  • even for all the wonderful successes and joys, there has been a lot of hard this year – remember that so when the easy rolls back around you’ll appreciate it more
  • some of the sweetest moments have been simple and quiet – tea with a friend, guitar playing, sitting, taking a walk
  • on the other hand, the studio anniversary party (IAY’s got Talent) was rocking and ruckus – you sang for the first (and perhaps last) time in public
  • you got a horse!
  • you gave up sugar (and dairy and bread) for a whole month – it wasn’t as bad as you thought and you learned that you are stronger than you know
  • you are planning a new website/blog that is in line with your values and life mission

    Gosh:

“even for all the wonderful successes and joys, there has been a lot of hard this year – remember that so when the easy rolls back around you’ll appreciate it more”

Thank you. I needed to hear that, as painful as reflecting on the hard still is.

How about you?
