Bite-sized chronicles

Trip to NYC with dear friend to do yoga, thrift store shop, and eat eat eat.

Departure day:

Christmas night, red-eye.
Lost wallet in airport.
$1000 cash in wallet, plus credit card and my only ID.
Realized on plane before take off. They wouldn’t let me off the plane since doors were closed.
Crying.
No sleep.

Land in NYC:

Three texts from R – Sheriff showed up at our house at 1 am.
Janitor turned in wallet – everything in it.
Crying.
There are good people in the world.
They won’t release wallet to R since our last names are different (got some crap about that).
R fed-ex’s passport, traveller’s checks and another credit card.

First day:

Rained all day.
Shopping.
Eating.
Shopping.
Eating.
Shopping.
Eating.
In that order.
Walked 100 miles in the rain.
Slept like the dead.

Second day (friend’s bday):
Crappy yoga class.
Eating.
Shopping.
Shopping.
Shopping.
Eating.
Shopping.
Insane amounts of walking and shopping.
Gorgeous weather.
Banner day.
NO sleep.

Third day:
Walked another 100 miles to get to yoga.
GREAT yoga.
Eating.
Crappy shopping.
Feel like poo run over by a truck.
Walking on elephant-sized legs.
Eating.
Crazy yoga class.
Sleep 10 hours.

Fourth day:
Leisurely morning.
Off to the other side of the world on subway for “famous” yoga class.
Whoop… kidney stone.
Yes, that’s right. But a finger prick compared to last time.
Chillin at the apartment (did I mention that it’s fabulous?).
R calls and says he wants a new “used” motorcycle.
Did I just pass a kidney stone or did you say you wanted another motorcycle?
Planning for yoga tonight.

Full day tomorrow before heading out at 7 NY time.

Lots to process — end of The Compact year, end of TT, getting health on track, off to Haramara soon. I think this is going to be a pivotal year for me on many levels. Lots of lessons in store, I’m sure. In some ways, this trip really sums it up.

More soon…

Someone turned in your full wallet?!?!? Now I’m crying! That is the best story EVER.

I’m so glad you are coming home soon and I can’t wait to hear the unabridged version of all of this.

    Love, love, love!
